Photo Assignment #1 - Practice Photos

Here is your first shot. Play off of your Photo Find 1 images you uploaded. Remember how/why/what about those images that gravitated you to them. Use them as inspiration and take 10 photos (or more) that your will upload to your Photo Assignments tab (page). Your goal is to Photograph not Snapshot your subject matter that you choose. You get to choose your subject-matter!
Experiment with COMPOSITION and editing programs. (We will talk and learn more about editing as the trimester goes on!) Of the 10 photos, pick your top 4 photos and write a reflective response for EACH photo. This is your first real opportunity to show off your world….get to know your camera, yourself and most of all have fun in the process! |

YOUR JOB: take 8 photos that REINVENT the Selfie (A.K.A… Self-Portrait) Learning Objectives:
1. Do we define ourselves by our beauty or our uniqueness? 2. Or is our uniqueness also our beauty? **What if we learned to take selfies that emphasized our creativity, our uniqueness and also our beauty of who we are? SELFIE - is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr and others. They are often casual, and are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror. (Wikipedia and urban dictionary) As photographers, we have a little power to change the pathetic selfie photo into something more creative, affective and powerful. Now is the time to put an end to the horrible selfies. What will you say? Your job: Take 8 self-portraits using the I AM poem as a prompt for creative ideas. Each shot should be saying something about who you are, your Uniqueness!! Think about how you can use these techniques to show who you REALLY are, not just what you look like from a selfie point of view. When you post your selfies (self-portraits) please write a title that corresponds to the I AM Poem we went through in class. It could be your caption. Like always, please write a reflection of your top 4 photos of this assignment. Objective: Re-Design a company Logo of your choice using Adobe Illustrator Tools. This logo should be a new version and not an old logo design version of the company. The Logo is the face of the company and consider how it should be portrayed.
*You will need to be able to explain why you designed the logo the way you did. Really think about how you would sell/advertise this company. What do they need to do to change the face of their company to make it more appealing or true to what they stand for?! I chose Dairy Queen because I love ice cream. 2.What are their values/what they STAND for? They stand for ice cream! 3.What is/are their famous slogans? A father and son partnership in Green River, Illinois, had been experimenting with a soft frozen dairy product for some time. They contacted Sherb Noble, a good friend and customer, who agreed to run the "all you can eat" trial sale at his walk-in ice cream store.
